What we do
We run retreats and workshops in beautiful locations. We create experiences that are both meditative and nurturing, bridging the gap between the yoga studio and the outdoors. We create fully immersive yoga experiences that take us out of our busy lives and into nature, fostering a deep connection between our inner selves and the elements.
We provide complete access to nature in a manner of creative ways which will have you leaving feeling restored, rested and complete.
For each retreat we have a guest ‘feature’ or ‘teacher’ depending on the time of year. The location, food and teachings are all equally important elements of each retreat. Our intention creates a platform for ourselves and other teachers to respond to which in turn brings new teachings to very special locations.
“Working collaboratively has given us the opportunity to refine the combination of our teachings and ideas and draw attention to the details that make a retreat a slow, restful and peaceful experience.”
On yoga and the elements
When we slow down and engage with nature we observe the same ebb and flow that our lives as individuals take. Our own practices can take these fluctuations also, finding the time to practice regularly can be a challenge at times. Immersive experiences can help to rekindle an inner awareness that we all seek from time to time. The simple purpose of slowing down and ‘being’ amongst the elements and finding that inner stillness and simplicity is a wonderful place to start.
'The five elements are essential for life’s evolution….
Clean Air to breathe, Prana, (life energy, breathing), the adaptable, spontaneous breath, the invisible link between our mind and body. Full efficient breathing makes use of all the body’s breathing mechanisms and helps all the other systems to function effectively. Cultivation or controlling of Prana through the practice of Pranayama stills the Chitta, (conscious, the mind) and its fluctuations.
Pure Water, the most abundant fluid and substance in our body. When we forget to move with our natural fluidity, we become tense, tight, stuck, when we engage with our fluid body our movements become integrated, flexible and graceful.
Fertile Earth, we can accept its support, surrender our weight. When we yield our weight, the muscles streamline along the bones. The bones become a support that allows a natural rebound up through the body creating ease in action, balance and breath.
" By grasping the gravity of the earth we become connected to the soil, from which also plants and trees receive their nourishment" (Vanda Scaravelli).
Transforming Fire, internal, external, the body, the mind. Heat in the body allows tightness to release. Fire or Tapas, traditionally meaning the very effort of our Yogic pursuits. Practice transforms us, one mindedness and focus, simplicity, wisdom and integrity.
“Fire is the quality of the mind” (B.K.S Iyengar). It pushes us to practice and challenges us to try something new.
Individual Spirit, the element that connects us all to the web of life.’
